This community looks abandoned -_-
In hope that it will someday be revived, hello! I'm Melody, a 13 year old from PA that wishes to be a gothic lolita. Currently, I'm kind of a scene kid... My mom's going to help me start making my own loli clothes, though, so I'm excited ^_^ I love music, brightly coloured candy, reading, and my pets. My favorite scents are mint, pumpkin, and lavender, and I'm also quite childish. Dinosaurs, unicorns, childrens' toys, and tea parties make me happy, as well as many other things. Well, hopefully this post wasn't in vain, and someone will see it.

This isn't really lolita news related, but I decided to dress up and camwhore for you all. <3 We might as well turn this into a lolita rating community, as all the others out there are somewhat like this:

"______SEXY:: ru hott2212!?"

...Which is why I have a problem with them. :P So...

I'm not sure if you guys know this, but Metamorphose has an English version of their site here:
http://www.metamorphose.gr.jp/english/index.html
If you sign up for their mailing list, you'll get cute updates that start out, "Dear Lolita-chan" XD
It's not 100% correct English but you can figure out enough of what's going on to order. They tend to not have stuff that fits most non-Japanese though.
Oh, an interesting sidenote to this. There was an article on that site about the importance of wearing bloomers with big fluffy skirts so that you don't mess up the look of the outfit. Well... They meant to say that at least. What they did say was, "A lot of Lolita-chan do not wear bloomers and get screwed up skirt! Please protect yourself!" LMFAO! Someone must have told them though because a few days later they changed the wording around a bit XD
~enjoy! <3

I have websites for all you Loli-chan out there! Don't worry, I'll tell you what I like about them so you can peruse them more efficiently. ^_^

Gothic and Lolita Paradise This site used to have recipies. ;_; The site was then updated, but it's cute and there are a few pictures up. Also, it has the pattern for a simple but lovely bit of lolita clothing.

Candy Fruit This is a Japanese lolita site, but they sell to the US and have an English version of the page. Rejoice, because it's all also really, really cute. Also, the homepage picture has a caption that reads "Sends to the maid dress lover in the world from Japan. It is the highest-class maid dress of a prejudice to you." Gotta love that. "As for the page, somewhere is updated every day."

Blue Period Blue Period is a comprehensive lolita site, in English, for English-speaking Loli-chan. They also have a long links list and scans from the Bible. (The Gothic and Lolita Bible, of course!)

Crosses and Petticoats Another good comprehensive site, with a MASSIVE links list to alot of Japanese brands, sorted by style (i.e.--Goth, Lolita, EGL, ect.).

Gothic Lolita In Italian. This site has pictures, but that's all I could determine before it crapped out on me. Anyway, some of those pictures are of ko-gals, the antithesis of lolita, but it's always good to be reminded of what you are not.

Innocent World A lovely brand that's very, very kawaii. Japanese.

If I find any more, I'll post them up here! Ta, darlings~! And remember: lace is your best friend!

Hi, my name is Nikki and I live in NY, about an hour outside the city. I love EGL/EGA style, although I don't dress to the nines very often. Aya is my fashion hero. He sure knows how to have fun XD
Great to finally have a local community of our own. Nice to meet you!

...As I'm sure most of you know, this weekend was the Otakon, in Baltimore. I saw quite a number of lovely Lolitas walking the halls, and while I couldn't get as many pictures as I wished I could, I did get a few...
...too much protection, no love injection...Collapse )

Hey, look, it's Z. I'm retarded, so I just figured out how to use this... now-ish. 0.o Don't glare at me like that! =.=; I, unlike Menthi and Trefle, do NOT live in New Jersey. 0_o I'm the poor little PA girl, all strandededed. Though, I do indeed like frilly things. ^.^ Hehe. Lots of them! Big heaps of them! (On a side note, I've taken to tying ribbons on... everything, really. Including my bookbag and lamp. 0_o)

...Good evening! ^.^ *bows* --I hate introductions. I'm mozzi [yes, the same from Menthi's post!], and I have to say-- Menthe corrupted me. So, yes, I'm a gothic lolita at heart, and cursed and/or blessed to be sitting in the tristate area as well...

Nice to meet you all!

Irrasshaimase~! While looking through LiveJournal's communities, I found there were places for Elegant Gothic Lolitas of New England, Texas, California, two for Florida... but none for the Tristate Area. After pondering for a while, I e-mailed mozzi with the idea of making something of the sort--thus, tristatedolls was born!
With history out of the way, I may as well introduce myself... my name is Menthe, Loli-chan of New Jersey's Suburbia. As is probably usual, I got into the Elegant Gothic Lolita subculture after being exposed to Malice Mizer--Mana-sama in particular--and the other lovely j-rock bands that flaunt their pretty bois in lacey dresses. I'm somewhat of an overgrown child, living for tea parties and dress-up and walks in the parks, and fancy myself something of a living doll. As previously mentioned, I adore Visual Kei (Malice Mizer, Moi dix Mois, Lareine, oh-so-many others), manga, anime, etc. It's a pleasure to meet you! *curtsies*
Feel free to join, post introductions, pictures, anything you wish... Yes, pictures are lovely: let everyone see just how elegantly adorable the Loli-chan of this area are! ~.^
